the lead went back and forth until red won the first half 9-8. steel received the pull to start the second half and looked good in tying the game at 9-9. red scored the rest. liz conradt, lauren rothwell, and kristin white each had defensive blocks and played well as middles in steel's offense. there were several points where steel was calm and collected and moved the disc downfield smoothly, against red's zone coverage and against some person to person defense. steel missed beth and some other folks, and red was missing their captain kris bass. it was fun, and it certainly was a great afternoon for playing a bit of ultimate. may all our winter league saturdays be as warm and bright.
