Sunday afternoon dawned bright and midday, but with a noticable lack of players on both sides of the field. Jeff and I decided to start anyway. We had 7, they had a couple more, but we started with 6's as Brigette was trying to find cleats. After playing 6's on the first point we went to 7's, which left us with NO subs. We did get some relief when Ryan showed up a little before half. We played a loose zone and it must have been just unorthadox enough to give Cinn trouble. We took the half at 9-3. By then, though, playing almost savage was taking it's toll on us. We wavered a bit as the second half started, and Cinn made one heck of a comeback, shredding our zone. Our 9-3 run in the first half was matched by their 9-3 run in the second half, tying the score at 12's. By then, though, we had our third wind and started a 5-0(1?) run to close out the game 17-12(13?) Co-Captain Becca (who has a BIRTHDAY coming up) showed up to cheer for the last two points and lifted our spirits by being the target of much razzing. Much kudos to the savage women on both teams. Mary, Claw, Brigette & Xan? all played wonderfully without any rest.
