Play Guidelines
Time cap is sounded 10 minutes before the next round. Time cap will be in effect even in the final round, to ensure all games are played similarly. Imposing the time cap will immediately re-set the game to "high score + 1". If the point is in progress, the time cap will go on at the point's completion. [Clarification: if teams are on the line waiting for the pull and the horn goes off, the score is capped then and there, not _after_ that point is over.] Mercy rule: if a team is behind by 4 or more points when the time cap is imposed, the game is over.

The tourney continues our regular season coed play: use a 5/2 ratio, with no more than 5 men at any time. If for some reason teams are having problems with numbers of women _before_ the tourney, contact Garrett Dyer (garrettd@bigfoot.com).

Players not on a team may not play during this tourney, ie, no guest or pickup players. Use of un-registered players will result in forfeitures.

End-of-day Standings

Finish in a pool is determined first by win-loss record. Ties are handled in the following order:

Sunday's Play

A division: top 2 teams from each pool
B division: middle 2 teams from each pool
C division: last 2 teams from each pool

Pre-pool seeding still stands, in that A1 is ranked higher than B1, which is in turn higher than C1, etc. [Note that if seeds hold, semis have matchups with 1v3 and 2v4. This is done to avoid upsets setting up re-matches of teams who'd played one another in pool play. If there _are_ re-matches, they will occur only in the finals.]

Play Guidelines

Quarters and Semis are to 15, win by 2, with a hard cap of 17. Finals are to 17, win by 2, no cap. 2 time outs per half. 20-yard brick.

Time caps will be imposed 15 minutes before the next round in all quarters and semis games. No caps will be imposed on finals games.

Imposing the time cap will immediately re-set the game to "high score + 2", hard cap (ie, no win-by-2). If the point is in progress, the time cap will go on at the point's completion. [Clarification: if teams are on the line waiting for the pull and the horn goes off, the score is capped then and there, not _after_ that point is over.] No time outs will be in available when the time cap is imposed.

THE FINAL In a simply dominating display of great defense and great transition offense, Frannie Goodrich's team Stonewash Green defeated Tim Brook's and Thuy Boyd's Sage team in the final yesterday 13-4. Matt Hull gets game MVP honors with his pinpoint deep throws, and the St. Green women deserve accolades for their outstanding play. Who would've thought that with all of the scoring that the St. Green women did, Frannie wouldn't be the primary target? Frannie did have the game's biggest highlight with an off-the-hook layout grab for a score of a (Matt Hull?) deep shot early in game, though. If I'm not mistaken, this marks the first time a team captained by a woman won the Lo Cup (I'm not counting Juice...he didn't even show up to cheer his team on). Congratulations team Stonewash Green for your outstanding play! At times, the rain made it appear as though we'd be washed out, but we prevailed in spite of it. I thank the captains for working it all out and getting your players there and ready to play despite the confusing circumstances. We can all thank Christian for making it happen...he was The Man this weekend.
